As the AP mentions, J.M. Smucker Co. recently announced that prices for its Folgers and Dunkin’ Donuts coffee brands would drop, thanks to “sustained declines in the green coffee futures market.” But Starbucks is more than a coffee shop. There’s the food, the rent, the marketing, and an escalating budget for black markers that baristas use to incorrectly write your name on cups. All of that costs money and all of that factors into the price hike.
